BASS fishing clubs in2012  (United States)
Modified By pirilad on 10/3/2011 9:04:23 PM

Alright bass anglers, time for everyone to get their information and comments in on what they want to do next year. We need to get together to pick a site for the State BASS Alternates tournament, club schedules, rules, vote on officers/members, etc.

Sounds like the Ultimate Angler is having 3 events: Blue Lake, Lake Vermilion and Pokegama Lake, Grand Rapids. The UAC BASS club may fish these but needs to decide.

I have spoken to many people and there seems to be several things that people want, I'll try to list them.

  • Tournaments -
    • 2 person teams
    • boater - nonboater (all season)
  • Bag limits - looks like this will be either 5 or 6 bass bags, all season. Votes will determine it. Main point for both is that a single angler has a chance, but if you go with 6 fish they cannot carry the 6th fish and continue to fish bass, since it's illegal to call down to a limit. But if 5 were the limit, everyone could bring their best 5 to the scale.
  • Tournament Schedules
    • Saturdays only
    • Day of week - Wednesdays or Thursdays
  • Meeting dates - Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm, Powerhouse Bar. In past it was Wed.
  • Marine General wants a list of bass lures that they can add to their store and want us to provide them with one. I'll have a separate post for this, please post there.
  • etc

Please post your comments and let's get everyone out fishing in one or more clubs that work for them.

Looks like we'll have:
  1. UAC BASS with 3 events, team, lakes above, 3 Saturdays. Contact: Al, al@ultimateanglerchallenge.com
  2. Duluth BASS - Saturdays - 5 events - teams - members only - rules, dates, lakes to be voted on - Contact: Doug, doug@duluthbass.org
  3. Duluth BASS (like DABL) - Wed or Thurs - NO PREFISH - 5 events random - teams - members only - rules, dates, lakes to be voted on - Contact: Doug, doug@duluthbass.org
  4. BassHoles - Saturdays - smaller group - team - Saturdays only Contact Steve Johnson, stevejohnsoncrc@gmail.com
What do you think and what group are you with? We want to get everyone out fishing, so spread the word and let's get everyone out fishing. And lots of our guys into the TOC this year.
Hey Marine General wants us to make a list of bass lures for them to get and setup. Check out http://multispecies.com/FishingLeagueForums/tabid/544/forumid/50/postid/8123/scope/posts/language/en-US/Default.aspx and let them know what you want.

Just so everyone knows, I don't think all the clubs will be taking everyone interested, some will be limited so they can fish some smaller waters closer to town. So get your info in, I'll get it to their organizers and they'll let you know if you get in. Many clubs do the same so they don't have too many to fish their local lakes.

I am sure we'll find a way to get everyone fishing.

Thanks
