Salmon Fishing Trip to Lake Michigan
 (United States)
QuoteReply

Just got back from Fairport, Mi for my first Salmon fishing trip.  The winds were very, very strong. Kept us from fishing some of the time. We wanted to fish the mornings and the evenings. But due to the winds, we were only able to get out 1 morning and 3 evenings. It was very rough out there everytime we went out.  The fishing was also slow. First night out we were able to boat 6 fish. All in about the 13 lb range.  Next couple trips out we ended up only getting one fish each time out. 1 smaller one and 1 around 13 lb.  This morning we went out for one last time. The winds again were around 25-30 miles. Just a day break I was able to land the biggest fish for the camp. a nice 17.14 lb Salmon. Hopefully next year when i go up the winds will be a little better.

Its a little too late, I just got back from the 10 hr drive. I will get some pictures up tomorrow.

Love Salmon fishing in Lake Michigan.  We went out of Milwaukee in early August.  we left a couple fish short of our limits.  Think our biggest was around 17 too.

Very nice fish.   I hear ya on the winds, hopefully they go away for a little while.  Do you get to Michigan much?  That's a good fishing trip to do.
