Moving the consoles back???

More room in the front???

What in the wide world of sports are you thinking? Who's the poor sap who has to fish out of the back of your boat, squished in an even smaller area than before? What happened to the new and improved BACK platform?

I have to say I am NOT impressed!

I'd be happy to review any structural concerns regarding improvements to the back end of your boat. Adding a larger platform should not be an issue. Have you ever heard of safely factors? Every designer uses them, usually 4:1 so you should be able to remove 75% of the support structure and still keep your motor from falling in the lake. Think about adding some surround sound speakers while you are back there, possibly a built in beer fridge, reclining swivel casting seat/lazy boy, retracting footrest...the possibilities are endless!

Keep up the good work and call me to schedule a test run!

I understand your concern that my partner may not be getting his new back platform, but you seem offended that I would give myself something before him! I'm actually doing this for my partner to make the ride to the fishing hole more comfortable for him.

If I have time, I'd be happy to re-visit the new back platform, but I'd almost need to hear something like this from my fishing partner...

"Hey Pat, you've put a lot of work into your boat, even with your busy schedule. I want you to know how much I appreciate it. Especially for the fact that you let me fish in your boat, free of charge, with the exception of some bait and beer that I contribute once in a while. You even let me take the boat any time I'd like, which is very kind of you! It's nice to know I can take my family out fishing without having to cram them into my 14 footer. The casting platform you built for me last year was really a nice gesture. I can't believe you actually measured my tackle bag first to ensure a proper fit for the storage compartment! That in itself shows what kind of guy you are! Way beyond the call of duty! Even though I like the current set-up, I truly believe a permanent platform farther back would allow for more fishing space and comfort for those you take out on the water. At the same time, eliminating the need for the portable platform. With my engineering experience and the extra time I have available, I'd be happy to come over to your garage and help you build such a platform. I could even supply the beer!"

Hey Pat, I know you've been working hard getting your boat ready for opener. I also know how the late nights in the garage go, especially if you don't run out of beer. Maybe that's the reason you're not done yet. You should consider less beer and more work. I'd be happy to come over and help you tackle the beer drinking portion of the job to allow you to get more work done.

No need to thank me. It's just the kind of guy I am. Willing to sacrafice myself for the good of the team!

Hey I could help with the drinking beer part too, that way Pat will have two drunken bosses to over see his every move.  I have to say surround sound speakers, a built in beer fridge, reclining swivel casting seat/lazy boy, and retracting footrest sound pretty good.  Hey if you do that, you'll have a lot of volunteers to drink your beer and net your fish, in between naps.  But you did forget to add the pole and dancing floor for the ladies.  That's a big over sight.  Fire your designer..  I think he ran off with the dancing girls..
