Thanks, I think I'll go with the 60 amp breaker. I'd like to have it all set up so the new owner can just hook it up and fish.

Most motors nowdays run off of a breaker. Sounds like what you had was a little too beefy if you melted the works. The other thing you could do is check to see what size breaker/fuse Motorguides and/or MinnKotas run in that pound thrust and duplicate that.
