The Getting Ready List

I worked on the boat last weekend and THOUGHT, she was all ready to go. Boy was I wrong. Forgot to check a couple things before I could get out of the driveway. Two very minor things, but they are needed.

1. Make sure you have the wing nuts for the batteries.  Lost one some how, some way. Scrambling to get that fixed. Everything closed in town.  Had bought some spares, but--- Well--- Who knows where they went. Fishhouse maybe.

2. Make sure the Trailerlights work--- OOPs forgot that one. Well, I'll have to deal with that one tomorrow.

So feel free to add to my list of minor things to check, before you make a attempt to hit the waters, because I'm sure I'm still missing something. Probably find that out when I get on the water.

Double check bilge pump as well as live well pumps before you need them.

Make sure that starting battery is charged

Grease the hubs

These are a couple that I have forgotten in the past

Everytime I notice something I forgot, I make sure I'm prepared for it next time. Now, I have a tool box in the boat that has tools, electric connectors, tape, bulbs, etc. It even has extra WING NUTS!!!

The lights are a major pain on my trailer. If I have time this year, I'm going to rewire and put new submersible lights on it. I don't know how many times I had to change bulbs last year.

Oh yeah, make sure your spare has air in it! Serious bummer getting a flat, even worse when your spare is flat, too!
