Anyone missing a truck?
 (United States)
QuoteReply
Went out to Bolder the other night to check out the alleged "night bite".  Apparently we were there on the wrong night.  However, we did see a truck sitting out in the middle of the lake buried up to its frame in slush.  Not too sure how those poor folks are going to get that out of there.  We took sleds and they even were sinking down into the slush from time to time especially when we went off of the main track.  If other lakes are in a similar condition, I would NOT recommend driving anything other than a snowmobile on these lakes.  Not worth the hassle and I am sure a significant cost if your rig ends up like the one we saw.

I don't think we need any more structure on that lake, it's full of structure.  But I can think of a few lakes I'ld like some structure.  We should work out a plan with the DNR to do some structure building parties.  Anyone interested in building some structures?  The DNR has said in the past that we could do it, but we have to post them on where and clear the project first.  I have a few ideas where.  I can see the crappies happening already.  And bass, walleyes, catfish, etc.

I guess I better volunteer or else that will just give you another leg up on those blessed crappies.  I was fishing the flowage, and they have some cribs marked, and without a doubt, they held fish.  However, there is a big difference in structure on that lake compared to a lake like Boulder.  Also Twitch, where the truck was located, was not an area I would classify as all that stuctured, so maybe that is what they had in mind...
