My biggest question I have about my boat is:

I purchased a new 2007 16' MirroCraft with a 25 HP Mercury motor on it--- I feel comfortable taking it on any lake in the Annandale area. But, would anybody take it out on Mille Lacs, Leech or Winnie. We take a couple camping trips every summer, but we usually plan them for smaller lakes, because I just don't know how big of lake that boat will handle. I know wind conditions is always a big guess, but would you guys plan a fishing trip to lakes mentioned above, with the boat I have not knowing what the wind conditions will be.

Depends on with who.  If I were going with the hard core buddies, sure.  They can take the rough seas.  But I know my kids wouldn't want anything to do with big waves.  Just my two cents worth.

I've done Mille Lacs in that size boat.  Granted the weather was decent that day for fisherman (light breeze, sunny and warm), but still caught some fish.  I would plan a trip there with that size of a boat, but just prepared to either have an alternate smaller lake nearby, or just pick a landing on the windward shoreline and stay on that shore.  Quite a few bays on the south side of Mille Lacs to tuck into.  If your going to fish the flats, just pick the nearest landing to the flat you want to fish (either paid or public).  Most of the reefs are near the shore as well.

Have fun this summer in your new boat.

I have been on Mille Lacs in a boat that size when the sea, she was angry.  It made for an interesting trip out and back.  We got absolutely soaked, and there was no chance of standing up to fish.  Luckily, boat control out there is not quite as pinpoint as some lakes, so if you are the captain, it does not drive you quite as nuts, but I would not recommend back trolling something like that if the wind is up.  It is completely doable, if you have the right crew

We fished Mille Lacs with 3 of us in an older 15' Lund Pike. There were some serious swells, but we just took it easy. Would I have gone out with my family? No, but my beer drinking fishing buddies didn't mind at all! We ended up outfishing the guys with the bigger, fancier boats.
