Tiger musky? and bass on the riv
 (United States)
QuoteReply

Last week, had a client from KS on the river had a blast chasing some pike and bass on the fly.  I believe the musky is a tiger musky, anyone verify?  His first musky, pike and smallie all in one day.

Dang, that's awesome, Ouitdee! I might have to hire you for a fly-fishing lesson, especially if there's a chance to catch big fish like that!

That muskie has some spectacular barred markings, but I would guess it is not a tiger muskie.  I have caught a couple fish with similar markings out on the river.  It is amazing how much variation there is in the color and pattern between muskies caught in the same body of water.  Typically tiger muskies will have the rounded tail configuration found on pike, and not the pointed tail fins as found on pure strain muskies.

Looks like a tiger muskie to me.  Muskie27's the muskie guy though.  Nice fish either way and definitely a beauty.  The bass isn't too bad either.
