Come and Fish!

“MMTS Classic 2007”
Duluth’s Fishing Shoot-out

Sunday, September 9th, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

St. Louis River, Garfield Avenue Ramp

The Minnesota Multispecies Tournament Series is inviting all leagues and anglers to join us for a Fishing Shoot-out for walleyes, bass, pike and multispecies.

We will have at least 6 teams from MMTS, at least 6 teams from the Duluth Area Bass League, and 3 teams from the Cloquet Area Fishing League.  So we have 15 teams already committed to fishing.  All winners will take home cash and plaques, along with some bragging rights.

The entry fee per team is $30.  We will be giving away a pair of plaques for 1st – 3rd MMTS Classic winners (based on points system).  We will have plaques for “Walleye Champs”, “Bass Champs”, and “Pike Champs”.  The remaining money from entries will be divided 50% to 1st place, 30% to 2nd place and 20% to 3rd place multispecies.

There will be optional pots of $5/team for walleyes, pike and bass.  Each pot is total inches for each species with a 4 fish limit.  All fishing pots, 100% to the winner, plus plaques.

Please be sure to let your fishing buddies know about this fishing opportunity.

If you have a fishing league and want a free location to chat, we’ll set that up for you too.

Sincerely,

Douglas Pirila

With 6 hours to fish, there were some very nice fish caught.  Above are the winners and a couple of their limits of fish, all bonus walleyes and crappies.

Thanks for the great group of anglers and good sports.  I hope we see everyone again next year and make this an annual event. Thanks to Fox-News for the coverage and the Duluth News Tribune, Sam Cook for the support also.
