Alright guys. I know that Northlander and the fishing Minnesota guys are putting the steel to the walleyes here and there on the river. So is the Loadmaster. What's up?
I will just have to go and do it. But any tips would be awesome. You guys have my email address, let me know.. Or call me. Thanks.
Well I went and even saw walleyes. Lots of places, just make sure the ice is fine, get just on top of the break, like 12 feet of water and work a minnow on a jig or spoon, like the Northlander describes in his posts. They are not all monsters, lots of small walleyes but walleyes either way. I will have to try it more. But now I have done it and seen what others are doing and know I have everything needed.
Doug we will get ya out to some spots on the river that very few have ever fished on ice. If we have another winter like next year some great spots will be accessable. Last winter on the St. Louis was the best ice fishing season I have ever had. Many 20 plus fish days and several fish in the 27" plus range. Biggest being a nice 29.5"er that fell to a power shiner on a lazer eye jig. Those new metalic stand up jigs by bass pro are awesome in the river guys. I recomend you try the gold and chart ones. The green and blue are sleeper colors but on some days are the ticket.
Ice fishing talk alreday? Got to love it.
Anyone got a nice 2up sled they want to sell?
That would be awesome Northlander. I would like to see some good ice bites. I like spots that few fish and like to keep them that way. That's how they stay good. Those are nice walleyes, I'll have to try that lazer eye jig.
Ice fishing talk is good, that time is approaching and it's time to plan for it. Remember part of fishing is looking forward to the fishing.
I don't know anyone with a 2up sled for sale right now. But we'll keep our ears open.
Talk soon. Hey be sure to stop by our end of year party and let everyone else know too.
