Alright we all know about Gary Roach, Al Lindner, Tommy Skarlis, Rick Olson, etc. But who do we think is our top walleye pros? I grew up watching and still see Gary Roach and Al Lindner doing it all the time. They are not competing in the tournaments anymore, but are still contributing to the sport through videos, tv shows and books. That's a good thing.
So who's the best out there right now? I know Tommy Skarlis and Scott Fairbairn and many others, so I am not going to pick one. I think this varies per water also. But in a tournament often the locals are at a disadvantage, since they may spend too much time fishing memories and not move enough.
Good fishing,
I don't know that he fishes tournaments, but he writes about fishing. Another good place to look is http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/ . They have a lot of walleye articles and information too. I know many on their world ranking list, Larry Smith, Jeff Taege, Tommy Skarlis, Scott Glorvigen, Marty Glorvigen, Scott Fairbairn, and many others. One is from our fishing leagues, former champ, Steve Butchart. That's cool..
