Hi Scott,  hey nice avatar and signature.

I know what you mean.  I checked out your site and think there's a few guys here that would take the challenge too.  I think if you are a bass angler up here you have to make the most of it when you can get on the water, so you are really after it.  What really surprises me the most is how many hard core bass anglers there are up here.  They must have just been under the radar for a long time.

I hear ya on the cold weather bites and fishing.  Most anglers down south wouldn't think of fishing when it's 32 degrees, but we go for it anyway before it freezes up.  They must think we're crazy..

Yeah I know, mutant perch, never heard em called gravel lizards, but I like it.  I have fished walleyes seriously and they are challenging but they don't fight like a bass.  They both have followings.

Yeah we have life out here, what I found strange is the number of people that watch the forums but don't join in.  Even the guys from our league and others around here.  Many tell me, that's because they can pick up the phone and call.  Well that's cool, but this is cool too.

Hey some of us have tried several other, top bass and other fishing forums too, but many are so big and have so many threads that you don't even get a response half the time.  Out here you will get a response within hours, rarely but sometimes it can be a day.  But we are here.  I know of several people that normally post a lot that are having computer problems.  Kids playing and machines over loaded.  Come on guys, this is like any other good fishing tool, you can learn and get better at fishing by comparing notes.  Well I have to let em know once in a while.

Well great to have here and I will have to see if the bass nut is up for the bass challenge this year.

Good fishing.

I think it would be great to have a northeastern MN division.  The state TOC is going to be a blast on the lake we have selected.   It will take 20+ pounds to win that one I think.  We have quite a bit of interest, but most guys are not really ready to sign up just yet.  It is difficult to get motivated with three feet of snow on the ground, but our time is coming!

I think there are quite a few "closet bass fishermen" in walleye land! :)  Our site gets a lot of traffic too, but mostly viewers. :)

I like participating in forums because it can give you a different perspective on things.  Are you guys in the area that the season opens with walleye/pike season?

Have a great weekend!

Scott

Yeah it would be cool to have a division up this way, and we are looking to have a B.A.S.S. league too.  We'll have to see how many days we all end up fishing and see how it fits in.  Just how many days do you have to fish each year in your matches?  All of our contests are two angler teams, so no one on one matches around here.  But quite a few anglers are showing up to fish.  Which lake are you fishing for the state TOC?  A 20+ pounds bag is some nice bass.

I know that motivation thing with 3 feet of snow on the ground.  Most of our guys are out fishing and now they are shoveling this weekend.

Mostly viewers is the case on most boards any more.  We try to get more to post, but that's up to them.

I too go to a lot of forums and you're right, you can learn from the different perspectives.  Yes we have some of our waters open for bass with walleye/pike season and we plan our season accordingly.  Of course those are smallie waters.

Well don't work too hard on the snow, and keep thinking fishing..

For Bass Match, you have to fish four regular season matches which can be fished anytime before the divisional tournament.  The divisional has to be done before the State TOC, since the divisional is what qualifies you for it.  We will be fishing Waconia in Carver county for the State TOC.  That lake really puts out the large fish consistently.

We would appreciate it if we have a few more teams in the state, just to keep it interesting! :)

Have a good one!

Sounds like fun.  We'll see how many guys are interested.  Most of our anglers read our posts regularly so they will know check out your bass matches and discuss it, I am sure.

Waconia sounds like a great lake.  I've never fished it, but will have to some time.

Good fishing..
