What's your favorite musky lure?
Mine is a Mepps Giant Killer tandem spinner, that's chartreuse with a gold blade. I have caught some great muskies, pike and even smallmouth bass on it. But when it comes to trolling, nothing beats a good old Grandma's lure in perch. The 12 inch size of course. Why ever fish for a small fish?
Another great lure has to be the tally wacker, black with red blade. The biggest one out there. It is great pitched or trolled behind a board.
Anyone else have a favorite?
My favorite Bucktail is an orange and black Musky Buster bucktail tipped wiith an orange grub tail.
Topwaters I would have to say the LOWrider, Giant Jackpot, or the Bucher slopmaster buzzbait, I LOVE TOPWATER BAITS!!!!! But these are the ones I have most confidence in.
Saftey pin spinners for trolling open water I love the Hawk Spins, trolling and casting over and thorugh weeds you can't beat a Raddog or a StumpHawg.
I've never had any luck with crankbaits for some reason so I don't have a favorite of those.
Jerk baits would be either the Manta, Hellhound, or the 9 inch weighted suick.
Cool. I will have to get a couple of those baits to try out myself. I will have to see if Marine General has some. I love to use bucktails whenever I can. But you are right about topwater baits. They are awesome and when the muskies want them, the action is as good as it gets.
I haven't seen the Hawk Spins, but will look them up. Thanks..
