There are a lot of Minnesota lakes that have true trophies in them, but Lake of the Woods and Mille Lacs are a full step ahead of the rest. I have personally seen some submarines in Mille Lacs that made my knees start shaking just looking at them.

I am sure there are a lot of lakes with some monsters in them. I still think Vermilion is a wildcard, Milles Lacs and Lake of the Woods are my favorites for the next record. But Leech Lake and the Chippewa Flowage have the history and the right kinds of water to produce a monster. My reservations on Leech and the Chip are because everyone and their uncle already puts pressure on these fish and fisheries for muskies. That has to make it tougher on a fish trying to grow old. Imagine how many muskie lures these fish have seen..
