We would do it before the Minnesota Walleye fishing opener and hold it out of the Smithville landing, centrally located on the lower St. Louis River. Each boat would put $10 in the pot and we fish for the most total inches for 10 crappies..
We did this once before and everyone had a great time, we all learned more about crappies and saw some great crappies. But the best bag came in to a single angler that wasn't in the contest.. Ok, Ed, get in this time..
I think the Crappie King wants in. I would fish it too. I bet we could get a few others. Anyone else?
We would miss you Crappie King. But then someone else would get to be a crappie master too and have a title. We are talking about sometime in the first week of May. Would you be gone then?
Maybe we will have to get out a few times after the ice fades away and get the dust off our fishing reels. Crappies have been great in the fry pan all winter and I have no problem releasing crappies all day or taking some home for dinner now and then. I think the boat will be itching to get out by then too. See ya at the meeting tonight.
