I'm going to pin this post to the top of DABL forum area so I can keep track of all the different suggestions would could do next year.  I can pretty much guarentee this league will happen next year, that I know for sure.  Lakes, times, rules, etc are still in the air and we have plenty time to think about it.

If anyone has suggestions about rules, times, lakes, or anything else you can think of, post here so I can keep a good record.  I'll will be adding to this post when I hear suggestions given to me outside of the forums.

Current list of suggestions that have come to me:

  Captain Ouitdee Carson - Arrowhead Fly Angler
Promoting these fine products and businesses
Nautilus Reels - Winston Fly Rods - Iron River Sports - G3 Boats - Yamaha Outboards - Great Lakes Fly Company - Scott Fly Rods - Rio Fly Lines - VIEW COMPLETE LIST

I'm already looking forward to next year! First things first, I want to Thank The Fly Master for all his efforts. I thought he did a GREATTTTT! job.

Here's a few thoughts;

How about starting in Mn. like maybe Island Lake for season opener? Fishing should be better and bigger bags. I don't know the actual dates for next year, but this year I think we could have fished as early as May 13 on certain lakes. Heck maybe we could even start our tournaments earlier.

This next tournament we fish the St. Louis River in the same week the Multi-Species guys do. They fish on Monday and we fish on Thursday of the same week. Is there a way to plan it out so there's more time between the two dates?

How about a 5:30 starting time until 9:00 and then move to a 5:00 to 8:30 time for later in the season? That's the same time frame the Multi-Species use. I'd sure would like another 1/2 hour on the water.

I might have some additional thoughts, but for now I'll throw these out for comments from the other teams and ofcourse The Fly Master, our Pres.

I like the idea of another 1/2 hour and starting on Island Lake.  I think we should also move Sturgeon Lake up, so we can see those big bags there.

Another idea I think would be great is to score nightly with weight but our yearly score be based on positions.  That way the yearly winners are the ones that were the most consistent under night to night all conditions and against us all.  Since the Multispecies group did that it has been a great thing.

I agree, Ouitdee's done a great job.  Thanks Ouitdee, Fly Master.

Doug,

The additional 1/2 hour I spoke of in my post wasn't just for Island lake. I'd like to see us move to a 3 1/2 fishing time for all tournaments.

Yeah, that's what I was saying too.  3.5 hour nights and then to start the year on Island Lake.  I think that would be fun.  Hey I want a little more chance to catch a bass every night.
