Club scales...

Well it's official, we have 2 new club scales that we are using this year.  They might not be able to weigh all of my fish at one time because they only go up to 130 lbs

Please be nice to these scales because they belong to everyone in the league.

Twitch will decide whether we do a weigh-in-water or just do with the basket and no water.  It can be done either way.  I'm down for some weigh in water, better for the fish.  I think if we show locals and lake property owners all that we are doing to keep these fish alive and at the same time collecting good data on the lakes, it will be better for the leagues image.  Plus it's our own local waters we are fishing, so lets protect the waters we all fish when it's not league night.

If your live well setup does not have a re-circulating pump, I encourage everyone to get a small portable battery operated one to use at the boat landing.

A re-circulating pump ciculates the live well water by pumping water up and out some kind nozzel that shoots the water back down to the surface of the live well.

Or an bubbler aerator system, similiar to those used in fish aquariums.

Or You can also use some kind of oxygen tablets as well.

One of the biggest stresses on the fish is after we pull out boats out of the water with the fish still in the livewell.  Do not mess with your fish until your ready to transfer them to the weigh bags.

We will only have 2 weigh bags out at a time.  Use the DABL weigh bags and not your own.

One more thing, if you have a deeply hooked fish or a fish that is dying, please keep this for weigh in.  I know its hard to police out on the water, but you'll be doing the league and a yourself a big favor.  The last thing I want to see is dead fish floating around because someone needed to get that extra big fish.  There is only a small penalty for dead fish.

There were a few times out last year where I did see dead fish floating on top, so I know it's happening, but I'm not saying DABL is doing it, so please DO NOT throw your dead fish back into the water.

Thats it's for now.
