Today I went out bow fishing and had a great time. I got 3 in 2.5 hours and my buddy got 2. 4 were suckers and one was a red horse. biggest one was about 4.5 pounds. Here are 4 things i learned:
1. Dang those things are hard to hit, i took about 30 shots and they were close ones to. ( mabey 12 feetaway ?)
2. don't go with out waders, you can get really close, even 3 feet away if you time it right. Always kick inder bridges, logs and every kind of cover like old trees.
3) aim low and bring 2 arrows. On the one i hit, i aimed 2 feet under it.
Over all every one should get out and experinece some hot carp action!
Sounds like a ton of fun. I have been out too but not with the bow. How many fish did you see? What was the average depth of the water you were fishing? We saw a kid last week with a pitch fork and a sucker, so they are running good up here too. We were out for walleyes and saw him along the road going home. Very cool.
I agree it is something everyone should try at least once. Some carp action would be awesome and some bow fishing too. Thanks SuperGoodFishingTeen..
Tenacious, you also forgot to mention what that that kid also had a helmet on as well. What kind of suckers you guys bow shoot for anyway, those must be some mean suckers. Do you wear a helmet to supergoodfishingteen? J/K
Bow hunting sounds like a lot of fun. Tenacious, we'll have watch those carp this year on the river when they come up real shallow splashing along the shore lines. I always thought that would be a good time to bow hunt for them. I'm talking huge carp.
If I try to bow hunt for fish, it will be another bad habit I'll pick up
Tight lines.
There were about 30 carp in our area. Me and my friend kept about 6 or 7 between us. We were just fishing a little fiver conection 2 lakes. The water was about 1-2.5 feet deep.I really don't no what kind of carp they are but i no this, They are carp
Sounds like a great location and lots of fun. Cool.
Have you tried using a fishing pole and corn? I hear that's the best bait for carp..
